Muscle Release TechniqueSM

MRT is a unique injury therapy. The affected muscle is put into a stretch and then massaged using either compression or glide. The result? Scar tissue is broken up, the muscle is lengthened, muscle memory is restored and relief from pain is almost immediate. The goal of MRT is very outcome based instead of relaxation based. Your feedback is crucial during treatment. Sessions generally do not cover the entire body, but instead focus on specific areas. The therapist uses her advanced training to determine which muscles to address and how. This massage does not necessarily require disrobing.

MRT is very effective in treating:
  • chronic low back pain
  • knee pain
  • whiplash
  • sciatic pain
  • carpal tunnel syndrome
  • plantar faciitis
  • golfer's elbow
  • tennis elbow
  • IT band syndrome
  • thoracic outlet syndrome

Sports Massage

Massage has become a necessary ingredient for a complete workout. More and more people are realizing that a complete workout routine includes not only the exercise itself, but also caring for the wear-and-tear and minor injuries that naturally occur with strenuous movement. The physiological and psychological benefits of massage make it an ideal complement to a total conditioning program.

Anyone who routinely stretches their physical limits through activities such as running, cycling, hiking, swimming, dancing, tennis and other racquet sports, strength training and aerobics can benefit from a massage. Our sports massage combines muscle release techniques and swedish massage depending on the goals of treatment.

Massage will:

  • boost performance
  • prevent injuries & loss of mobility
  • restore mobility to injured muscle tissue
  • maintain the body generally in better condition
  • extend the overall life of your sporting career

The popularity of prenatal massage is the result of a trend toward a higher level of wellness, especially during pregnancy. Today's pregnant women – along with other health care consumers – are looking for alternative approaches to support traditional health services. Benefits of prenatal massage include:
        • emotional support and nurturing touch
        • relaxation and decreased insomnia
        • lessened sciatic pain
        • relief of neck and back pain caused by muscle imbalance and weakness
        • reduced swelling in hands and feet
        • preparing the muscles used during childbirth
        • fewer calf cramps

Massage therapy is not only important before childbirth, but also after. Post-natal massage focuses on helping to restore your body to its pre-pregnancy condition by retraining muscles and connective tissue. It also eliminates excess body fluids and tones the overstretched areas of skin especially over the abdomen.

Why should moms have all the fun? Pregnancy and childbirth are also stressful for dads. Massage therapy is a great choice to help dads de-stress.
